Collingwood Thompson QC and David O'Mahony obtain Jersey's largest ever confiscation order: £ 26.5 million

This confiscation order was the successful end to a long running money laundering prosecution relating to the corrupt appropriation of public funds by the former President of Nigeria, the late General Sani Abacha.

The investigation was Jersey's largest criminal case by value and made a significant contribution to Jersey's jurisprudence in this area.

It gave rise to some 19 reasoned judgments, including three appeals to the Jersey Court of Appeal and two applications for leave to appeal to the Privy Council. There were also three commission hearings in India.
