David Farrer QC & Nigel Povoas: Law Lords uphold conviction of Notorious Organised Criminal
One of Europe's most notorious drug barons, Curtis Warren, has lost his final appeal against his conviction for masterminding an international drug trafficking ring. Five law lords unanimously dismissed his appeal in what is now a leading authority upon the abuse of process jurisdiction in criminal proceedings. The successful prosecution team consisting of 7 Bedford Row's David Farrer QC and Nigel Povoas, were acting on behalf of the Attorney General of Jersey.
7 Bedford Row remains involved in pursuing Mr Warren for his proceeds of crime, currently assessed as a minimum of circa £150 million.
