7 Bedford Row's growing reputation in this complex field has been recognised by it being ranked in the top four sets for product liability by Chambers & Partners. Members of the team have been involved in a number of high profile cases including Bogle & Ors v McDonald's Restaurants (the "hot coffee" cases), Declan O'Byrne v Aventis Pasteur and the MMR Vaccine, Seroxat and Organophosphate group actions.

Members have been instructed in cases covering a wide range of consumer, medical and other products. Although many of the team are experienced clinical negligence practitioners with specific experience in relation to prescription drugs, medical products and chemical exposure, team members have considerable experience in broader personal injury and commercial product liability litigation concerning the automotive industry (including recent instructions from Audi and Ferrari), aviation, furniture, consumer electronics and other diverse products.
Members of the product team appeared in the MMR Vaccine litigation, Bogle v McDonalds Restaurants [2002] EWHC (the McDonalds “hot drinks” case) the Organophosphate claims, the Seroxat litigation (alleged defective antidepressants), O'Byrne v Sanofi Pasteur MSD Ltd [2006] 1 WLR 1606 (ECJ) (limitation in product liability) and Piper v JRI [2006] EWCA 1344 (defect in hip prosthesis).
