Jonathan primarily acts for Claimants in clinical negligence cases. He has acted in cases concerning failure to diagnose spinal injuries, failure to perform competent surgical procedures (including cosmetic surgery cases), and failure to competently manage eye conditions. He has conducted claims against dentists.
He has appeared at numerous inquests, where he has frequently, though not exclusively, acted for the deceased’s family, and he has had to cross-examine a wide variety of medical experts. He has appeared at inquests involving both Coroners sitting alone and sitting with juries. By way of example in December 2009 he appeared at a 4 day jury inquest concerning an accident on a construction site, which involved a thorough understanding of technical expert evidence. He has undertaken Article 2 inquests.
He is prepared to take occasional instructions to appear ‘pro-bono’ at inquests where there will be, or may be, a claim for clinical negligence arising from the death.
