Farooq specializes in matters involving children, mainly care proceedings. In public law children work, he is instructed by local authorities, parents and Children’s Guardians in a wide range of cases involving physical, emotional and sexual abuse allegations, and in respect of contact and adoption issues.
Farooq was appointed as a Recorder in 2000. He is authorized to sit on civil cases, care proceedings and private family matters. He also hears criminal cases in the Crown Court, including appeals.
Farooq is very approachable and extremely good with clients. Solicitors have described him in the following way:
