The primary focus of Adam's practice is personal injury including clinical negligence and claims against local authorities in educational negligence and for negligent social work. He combines this with a specialisation in costs. Adam's also has a specialised criminal practice focusing on business crime, customs offences and health and safety.
Adam is regularly instructed in both personal injury and clinical negligence cases involving catastrophic injuries, in particular spinal and neurological injuries and amputations, and in claims under the Fatal Accidents Act. He acts for local authorities in cases involving historic child sexual abuse, failing to take a child into care and failing to diagnose dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties. Costs work includes regular appearances in the SCCO. He is on the Norwich Union panel of costs advocates.
In the criminal field Adam is instructed in fraud cases involving RCPO, DTI and the SFO. He has particular experience of cases involving evasion of duty and carousel fraud and confiscation proceedings. He regularly appears on criminal matters in front of the Administrative Court. Adam's civil and criminal experience combine in the area of health and safety law where he acts for both the HSE and defendants.
